Natural disasters are a serious issue in Georgia causing economic losses of millions of dollars each year in addition to the loss of life and livelihoods. CENN are active at every level of natural Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) including advising on government policy, community based mitigation, response and recovery projects, and educational programs.

Description of project

The overall aim of the action is to reduce poverty, enhance food security and income and ensure sustainable development by fostering good governance for disaster risk reduction (DRR)
 
The project goal is institutional capacity building of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources in disaster risk reduction (DRR) via the introduction of modern spatial approaches, technologies and risk communication strategy in spatial planning in Georgia.
